"Plenty of Walls"

One of the kindest, hospitable, most down-to-earth families you'll ever meet. Considering all of the ups and downs year 2020 has offered including the uprising of the Black Lives Matter movement and the coronavirus pandemic, the Rowe’s were a nice slice of calm amidst chaos. KayKay contacted me via the SNAPPHOUSE website and we scheduled a time to sort out details via phone. I asked what ideas they had in mind and they texted me their thoughts. They were open to my suggestions and we collaborated beautifully. An hour of driving, half an hour of setup in their home, 2 wardrobe changes, 3 hours of shooting, 4 bowls of fresh, air-popped popcorn (props), 1 week of editing, and 200+ digital photos later, the Rowe family was pleased with their final images. They sent a lovely text of appreciation and let me know that it’d be hard to choose which images go up on the wall. I responded, ”Why choose?! There are plenty of walls :-). “

Fun Fact
Mike Rowe’s mom is a good friend of my family and was my hairdresser growing up. I looked up to her, my mother and other fearless entrepreneurs as a child. Her hair salon located off of Richmond Ave. back in the day in Houston, Texas was named, “The Hair Shoppe.” She, in part inspired the name SNAPPHOUSE. Thanks Ms. Geri.
